Camping in India
There are numerous reasons for tourists to visit India. It is full of surprises, from magnificent natural phenomena to centuries-old architecture. However, did you know that India has areas that glimmer in the dark? So, if you're interested in learning more about these locations, here's a list to follow.

1. Juhu Beach, Maharashtra

One of the places in Maharashtra that you must visit at least once is Juhu Beach. If you go, try to go at night to see the shimmering hue of electric blue caused by a microbe called Noctiluca scintillans, which releases light when disturbed. The best time to visit this site is after 8 p.m. to see the glittering blue waves, with the concrete jetty providing the best panoramic view.

2. Purushwadi Forest, Maharashtra

During the summer, this Maharashtra tribal community attracts not only a large number of people, but also millions of firefly. During their breeding season, fireflies create bioluminescence to attract partners at dusk. During the months of May and June, the trees will be dotted with all of these fireflies, sparkling with twinkling patterns as they attempt to lure their mates. Every year, a firefly festival is held in this area, with hikers flocking to this location to see the fireflies in all their beauty.

3. West Jaintia Hills, Meghalaya

After learning about "electric mushrooms," when researchers from China and India travelled to Meghalaya's West Jaintia Hills District, they had no idea what they were in for. When they arrived, the native guide urged them to turn off their lamps, and that is when they saw the magic. The researchers couldn't believe their eyes when they witnessed tiny mushrooms create light all by themselves. The villagers utilise these mushrooms to navigate across the woods. These electric mushrooms are a new species of Roridomyces, according to tests.

4. Mattu Beach, Karnataka

Picnics, walks, and sunset views are popular at this laid-back beach. The water body on this beach sparkles at night, which is a unique feature. The water body shines due to a bacteria called Noctiluca scintillans, according to marine researcher Abhishek Jamalabad. The sea sparkle, which is a free-living, marine-dwelling species that lights up when startled, is a common name for it.

5. Betalbatim Beach, Goa

There is also a beach in Goa that shines in the dark. The Betalbatim Beach in South Goa is noted for its pure white sands and is a great place to observe dolphins and enjoy spectacular sunsets. Due to bio luminescence in its waters, this beach also lights in the dark. So, the next time you're in Goa, don't forget to visit this beach!
